Exode Tropical is primarily a story of passion. It begins in 2004, when Sylvain Lefebvre, then biology student, set up his first photographic Madagascar and created an association of environmental education. Soon, he is joined by Marie-Anne Bertin, young agronomist who shares this love for biodiversity, wildlife photography and travel. Driven by the desire to take off, have adventures together, Marie-Anne and Sylvain remain the two main drivers of Exode Tropical.
Nine years ago they give their time, their energy to discover the magic of the rainforests and the threats to the future. They have learned by themselves how to photograph wildlife, realize documentary and program website.
Today, xode Tropical has no employees, is funded by any institution and requires no membership fees. Initially funded by personal contributions, the projects of the association are trying now to be paid by the broadcasting rights of their film, the DVD sales and rental photographs or exhibitions.
