Colibri
Night of the hummingbird
The Cordillera de Talamanca, Costa Rica.

Walk up, walk down, walk up, and walk down. To imagine the jungle as a flat wooded area was a mistake. Here, at about 2000 meters of altitude, cloudy forest has invaded the mountains. A light breeze airs the forest canopy and stirs the veils of the mist between tree ferns and epiphytes. Slowly the Sun fades away offering a photographer rare halos of light. Only hummingbirds seem to escape to this apparent torpor. Like a high-powered vehicle, these birds seem to be tireless. Although, in a few minutes, they will find peace and will sit on a branch to stay overnight.
