SELVA, in the jungles of the New World

Publishing Project

livre Selva

"The howler monkeys, well-named, are best suited to start this new day. Their powerful and frightening cries can be heard over miles: such an awakening makes you spring up at first, but afterwards you don't get tired of it. Keel-billed toucans, Mealy Amazons, Montezuma Oropendolas bring finally a little melody to this harsh and brutal noisy background. A slight musty smell indicates that the air is damp. It is not raining, but the drops running down the tree trunks and the leaves remind us that it had rained not long ago. At any time, we may get soaked of another rain...".

SYNOPSIS : From 2006 to 2007, then from 2009 to 2010, Marie-Anne and Sylvain leave France to totally immerse in tropical forests of America as a part of a big project of environmental education for their association. From Mexico to Ecuador passing by Guatemala and Costa Rica, their daily life activities include photographic hunting and volunteering for associations engaged in the conservation of wildlife. This naturalist travel story is a result of their adventure, a tribute to these hot and humid lands and to everyone who is concerned by their future.
