Invitation to the exhibition

Biologic treasure of tropical rainforests pulled us away from France for two years. Two years far away from our nest and paved jungles. Two years on the belt of the world, with the backpack, some money in the pocket, a photo and a video camera.

Very quickly we set our hearts on rain forests of the Americas. Whole year spent in Costa Rica, and then the second in Mexico, Guatemala and the Ecuador. Insatiable adventurers, our only leitmotiv was: observe extraordinary species of this land and meet those who are concerned about their future.

One has to deserve such trips, but then it leaves marks in one's life: away from our relatives, saving our supplies and forgetting our professional projects for some time necessitated sacrifice from us. Once on site, it has nothing to do with vacations.   Management of our very tight budget sometimes made our daily life very difficult. However, it is the best way to submerge in the local culture and open the eyes on real signification of ecologically responsible trips. Local bus, rice diet (three times a day), staying at local people's homes... logical solution when one has time but no money. Our daily life was split between photographic hunting and volunteerism for organizations dedicated to the conservation of the wildlife. Photography quickly became our means for bargaining.  In exchange for housing, food and admission fees to national parks, we enriched their naturalist photo gallery.

Voluntary reporters: bargaining during those years was our way of traveling.
